Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC)

Committee established to advise the Australian Minister for Health and Ageing on evidence relating to the safety, effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of new medical technologies and procedures. Website includes information about completed assessments and assessments in development.

Australia and New Zealand Horizon Scanning Network

An initiative of the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC), the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) and all Australian Health Ministers' Advisory Council (AHMAC) jurisdictions established to provide advance notice of significant new and emerging technologies to health departments in Australia and New Zealand, and to exchange information and evaluate the potential impact of emerging technologies on their respective health systems.

Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC)

Independent statutory body established to make recommendations and give advice to the Australian Minister for Health and Ageing about which drugs and medicinal preparations should be made available as pharmaceutical benefits. Website includes public summaries of PBAC recommendations.
