February, Australia’s Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, provides an opportunity for us all to focus on ovarian cancer and its impact on those affected by the disease.
Each year in Australia almost 1300 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer. More than two-thirds of women are diagnosed at an advanced stage, where the cancer has spread and is difficult to treat successfully.
Ovarian cancer doesn't have a screening test. It is important that women are aware of the facts about ovarian cancer, the symptoms to look out for and what to do.
