Nerve problems (peripheral neuropathy)

E-mail Print PDF Site Map

Some chemotherapy drugs can cause nerve and muscle problems during treatment. Severe problems are uncommon.

More common symptoms include tingling, burning or numbness in the hands or feet. This occurs gradually over time. If it occurs it may get worse with each treatment. It can lead to difficulty walking or buttoning clothes in severe cases. The symptoms will usually improve after the treatment has stopped.

Treatment can be adjusted for women experiencing nerve problems.
